A CHOREOGRAPHIC WORK OF MOVEMENT, ELECTRONIC MUSIC AND TEXT DIRECTED BY PANAYIOTIS TOFI
Description:
The new choreographic work ‘Erroneous Encounters’ directed, choreographed and written by the Cypriot creator Panayiotis Tofi is an experimental movement-based journey accompanied by the live composition of electronic music and poetic text. Four performers and a music composer share the stage in a course of negotiation with the post-traumatic as an autoimmune, symptoms of dysfunction, distance as well as the multiple symbolisms of emptiness. The work is a continuation of the creator’s research in both movement vocabulary and composition, with which he focuses on topics of emptiness and concealment, as well as the loss of empathy and autonomy as a characteristic of contemporary reality.

ANDREAS ECONOMIDES (musician)
Andreas Economides, was born in Nicosiα. He studied Acoustical Engineering at the University of Southampton (Institute of Sound and Vibration Research) and holds a diploma in Classical Guitar and Music Theory. He has been involved in various musical ensembles since a young age, playing guitar, bass, percussion, and other stringed instruments. He operates a private recording studio, where he works both as a musician and a recording engineer. In recent years, he has been active as a musician and composer, collaborating with directors and choreographers such as Panayiotis Tofi, Georgia Andreou, Christodoulos Andreou and Valentinos Kokkinos. He has participated in the «Xarkis» and «Anti-skino» festivals. He specialises in live music composition, looping, and improvisation. He experiments with homemade musical effects and instruments. He has composed music for short films, written original music, and performed live for theatrical and dance productions.
DAMIANOS AGGELOS EFSTATHIOU (dancer)
Damianos-Agelos Efstathiou (Athens, 2002) is a graduate of the National School of Dance, Greece (2023) and Gerakas School of Art. As a dancer, he has collaborated with the artists Blenard Azizaj, Marianna Kavallieratos, Fotis Nikolaou and Konstantinos Mihos. He has participated in the contemporary dance festival Train in Rouf (2022). He has attended seminars with Evangelos Poulinas, Linda Kapetanea, Nicole Ishimaru, Adi Zlatin and Dart Dance Company.
VASILIKI KYPRAIOU (actress)
Vasiliki Kypraiou (Athens, 1976) is a graduate of ‘Karolos Koun’ Drama School (2002) as well as a Pilates instructor holding a Body Arts and Science International Diploma. As an actress in the field of theatre she has collaborated with numerous prominent directors and choreographers amongst which: Robert Sturua, Mimis Kougioumtzis, Peter Hall, Yiannis Lapatas, George Economou, Cezaris Grauzinis, Vasilis Kondaxis, Vasilis Nicolaides, Stratis Panourios, Paris Erotokritou, Minas Tigilis, Panayiotis Larkou, Panayiotis Tofi, Lea Maleni and many others. In the field of cinema she has collaborated with the directors Kiros Papavasileiou (‘Embryo, Larva, Butterfly’), Savvas Stavrou (‘Dorothea’), and Makis Papadimitratos (‘Tsiou’). Vasiliki has worked for the television productions ‘Counting Moments’ (E.Zioga) directed by N, Koutelidakis and ‘Lady of the Silk’ (V. Pelegari) directed by C. Orthodoxou. She lives and works in Cypris for the last ten years.
IOANNIS MAMOLIS (dancer, actor)
Ioannis Mamolis (Cholargos, Attica, 1995) is a graduate of the National School of Dance Greece, KSOT (2020), as well as of the Economic Science Department of of Athens University of Economics and Business (2019). As a dancer, he has collaborated with the following artists and companies: Dimitris Papaioannou, Romeo Castellucci, Max Emanuel Cencic, Antonis Foniadakis, Ioannis Mandafounis, Iris Karayan, Vassilis Kekatos, Bejart Ballet Lausanne and others. He has danced in International Festivals such as the Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2019 and the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival 2022. He has attended seminars with: Ohad Naharin, Batsheva dance company, Fresco dance company, Euripides Laskaridis, Linda Kapetanea, Cyril Baldy, Spencer Dickhouse, Chiara Michelini, Eliana Stragapede and Borna Babić, Paul Blackman and Christina Gouzelis, Konstantina Efthymiadou and others. He has presented his own works ‘Cain & Abel’ (Athens, 2023) and ‘Dialogue/ Διάλογος’ (Rhodes, 2019). As a performer, he has participated in musical theatre and dance theatre productions.
NIKOS SAMOURIDIS (dancer, actor)
Nikos Samouridis was born in Athens, where he works as an actor, dancer and choreographer. He graduated from the National School of Dance – KSOT (2023) and from the Drama School “Dilos”- Dimitra Chatoupi (2018). As a dancer and performer, he has worked with Romeo Castellucci, Blenard Azizaj, Fotis Nikolaou, Athanasia Kanellopoulou, Patricia Apergi, Panayiotis Tofi and Artemis Ignatiou. He has attended workshops and dance seminars with dancers from Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Netherlands Dans Theatre-NDT, Martha Graham Dance Company, Batsheva, Linda Kapetanea, Evangelos Poulinas and others. As an actor in theatre productions he has worked with Katerina Evaggelatou, Antonis Galeos, Kirki Karali, Giannis Panagopoulos, Konstantinos Hatzis, Giannis Paraskevopoulos, Dimitra Chatoupi and Niki Doulgeraki. On television, he has worked with Manousos Manousakis for the series “To Kokkino Potami”, “Vardianos sta Sporka”, “To Kokkino Potami – i synexia”, for the documentary “1821, The flame of the revolution” as well as with Andreas Georgiou for the series “Gi tis Elias”. As a choreographer, he has created the dance performances “Screenlight” (2022-2023) and “Exis – The Habit of Routine” (2021). In the theater field he has directed the movement and choreography in the productions “HOMOS – IN GREECE ALL” (dir. Antonis Galeos, 2022), “F*cking Men” (dir. Antonis Galeos, 2019), and “The Tin Drum” (dir. Dimitra Chatoupi, 2019). He has also choreographed performances for the graduates of the Drama School “Dilos” – Dimitra Chatoupi (2018-2019), and the last years he has been teaching contemporary dance to teenagers and adults. Over the years, he has collaborated with institutions such as the Greek National Opera, the Onassis Foundation -Stegi, the Theatre Organization Cyprus – THOC, the Michalis Kakogiannis Foundation, and has participated in festivals such as the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Fast Forward Festival, Aeschyleia Festival, Philippoi Festival, and more.
